Security & trust

Safe by design. Clear when it matters.

Security at Sage isn't a lock icon in the footer. It's a set of rules about who controls what, what we confirm twice, and what we tell you when something doesn't go to plan.

What we build in.

Credentials stay yours

No Sage employee, agent, field officer, cooperative or partner may ever request, set, keep or use your PIN, password, OTP or biometrics.

Device awareness

See recognised devices and active sessions, spot the current one, remove another, and report suspected compromise from inside the app.

Step-up checks

New devices, credential resets, new beneficiaries and large transfers trigger extra checks. Loan acceptance and card changes always need fresh authentication.

Masked by default

Balances, account numbers and identity data are masked where practical, shown only to you or to authorised business users.

One honest status

Every transaction shows one clear state — processing, successful, failed, reversed, under review. Never "successful" until it's confirmed.

No double charges

Retries and timeouts are designed so a slow network can't create duplicate payments. Every movement gets a traceable reference.

Stay one step ahead

How to spot a scam.

Fraudsters impersonate banks. Sage will never contact you to ask for these things.

  • Your PIN, password or OTP — over a call, SMS, WhatsApp or email.
  • A transfer to "secure" your account or to a "safe" account we give you.
  • Installing remote-access apps or sharing your screen.
  • Fees to release a loan or win a prize.
  • If in doubt, hang up and use only the contact details on this website.

Complaints. complaints@sagemfb.com. Unresolved complaints can be escalated to the Central Bank of Nigeria's consumer protection channels.

Be first through the door.

Join early access and we'll tell you the moment Sage opens in Abuja — plus first look at the app. No spam, and no commitment to open an account.
