Sage Microfinance Bank · Abuja

Banking that grows with you.

A digital-first bank for professionals, growing businesses and the people who make things. Open an account in minutes, save toward goals that matter, and unlock more as we earn your trust.

Pre-launch: everything shown is planned and subject to regulatory approval. We'll never ask for your PIN or OTP.

01

Progressive trust

Limits and products expand as you verify and use your account. Your history helps — it never replaces the checks that keep everyone safe.

02

Visible growth

See how close you are to a goal, what you owe and when it's due. Forward-looking numbers are always labelled as estimates.

03

No dead ends

If something fails, is delayed or declined, we tell you what happened, whether your account was affected, and exactly what to do next.

The Sage app

Everything in one calm place.

Your balance, your goals, your bills and your cards — organised so the next step is always obvious. Some features arrive in stages after launch; we label each one honestly.

After launch

Save with a purpose

Flexible Save for instant access, Target Save for goals with a date. See your progress, adjust any time, and know the withdrawal rules before you fund.

At launch

Transfers that confirm themselves

Own-account, Sage-to-Sage and other-bank transfers. We show the beneficiary name, fees and status — and never say "successful" until it truly is.

At launch

Pay bills

Everyday billers first, more categories as we add them.

After launch

Cards you control

Virtual cards first. Freeze or unfreeze in a tap and set your own controls.

Pilot

Responsible credit

A capped salary-linked advance, offered carefully — with every repayment date in view.

Pilot

Invest through licensed partners

A deliberately small shelf of regulated money-market, mutual-fund and fixed-income products, run by licensed partners. You'll see the provider, risks, fees and settlement terms up front. Sage doesn't give investment advice.

After launch

Service points

Find Sage and partner cash points, with hours and services.

Try it

Plan a goal in ten seconds.

This is the maths behind Target Save, without the guesswork. Move the sliders to see what it takes to get there.

You'd set aside

₦0

That's about ₦0 a week. Simple arithmetic only — it excludes any interest. Real rates and terms will be disclosed before you fund a goal.

Getting started

From download to day one.

Opening a personal account is designed to take under five minutes for most people — no branch visit. Business and higher-risk cases may take longer, and we'll always show you where you are.

  1. Verify your number

Enter your phone number and confirm it with a one-time code.

  2. Confirm who you are

Verify with your BVN or NIN and a quick selfie where required. Your status is always visible.

  3. Set your own PIN

Choose a transaction PIN and, if you like, biometrics. Nobody at Sage ever sets or sees them.

  4. Fund and go

Add money, receive your salary, send and pay. More features unlock as your account matures.

Safety, in plain language

Built so you're never left guessing.

Trust isn't a badge. It's what happens when something goes wrong — and how clearly we tell you what to do.

You hold the keys

Your PIN, password, OTP and biometrics stay with you. Staff, agents and partners never ask for them.

Know your devices

See every device signed in to your account, remove one, and report a problem in a couple of taps.

Fresh checks on big moves

Large transfers, new beneficiaries and card changes ask you to confirm again — even mid-session.

Fees before, not after

Every charge and timeline is shown before you confirm. No fee appears that isn't in the published terms.

Receipts for everything

Every debit, credit and reversal has a reference and a clear route to raise a dispute.

A person when it counts

Digital-first, never digital-only. Assisted and in-person help stays available where it matters.

How we protect you

What's coming, and when

We'd rather launch it right than launch it all.

A bank earns trust by doing fewer things reliably first. Here's the order we're building in. Timings are targets, not promises, and any feature that isn't ready simply stays off.

Questions

The honest answers.

Can't see yours? Browse all FAQs or tell us what you'd like to know.

Is Sage open yet?

Not yet. Sage is preparing to launch in Abuja. Everything on this site describes what we plan to offer, subject to regulatory approval. Join early access and we'll tell you when accounts open.

Is my money safe with Sage?

Sage will operate as a regulated microfinance bank. Once licensed, our licence and deposit-insurance details will be published in the footer of every page and in your account terms. Until then, please don't send money to anyone claiming to be Sage.

Is it digital-only?

Digital-first, not digital-only. Most things happen in the app, but assisted onboarding, in-person help and manual routes remain available where regulation, risk or your circumstances call for them.

Do you give investment advice?

No. Where we offer investment products, they're provided and managed by licensed partners. We show you the provider, risks, fees and settlement details, but we don't recommend, rank or promise returns.

Can I borrow?

Credit is introduced carefully. We plan controlled pilots — a capped salary-linked advance for eligible personal customers and working-capital for eligible businesses — with affordability checks and clear repayment dates. It isn't open lending to everyone.

I'm a fintech or platform. Can we partner?

Yes — in a curated, compliance-led way. See Platform Banking or write to partners@sagemfb.com.
